Plant Life Acrylic Painting Workshop

Join Valerie for a plant life acrylic painting workshop on Sunday, 5/24 at 2pm!

In this workshop, students will work directly from life exploring gesture and texture in an approachable way. You’ll learn simple color mixing and experiment with a variety of painting techniques. This is a welcoming space to slow down, look closely and enjoy the process.

You’ll leave with a 12 x 16 painting on canvas panel and a fresh way of seeing and creating.

Instructor Bio:

Valerie Lamb-Steece is an Artist living and working in Atlantic Beach Florida. Originally from Columbus Ohio, she and her husband moved for sunshine and being outdoors. She enjoys painting plein air landscapes but equally enjoys creating imaginary tropical pieces filled with creatures found in our area. Using imagery from life as well as from memory, her work is informed by place. You can find her at her studio in Atlantic Beach, drawing and playing in paint everyday.

I’ve been a teacher throughout my life, first working with my own children, teaching workshops to neighbors, then earning my teaching certificate k-12. I taught art at Crockett Elementary in Tennessee for many years.
