DESCRIPTION:Join artist/potter\, Tim Bullard for a 2-day Horse Hair Raku Workshop on Tuesday\, 4/25 & Tuesday\, 5/2 at 10:30am! \n\n\nThis workshop will occur on two days\, one week apart: \n– Tuesday\, April 25th from 10:30 pm to 1:30 pm\, and \n– Tuesday\, May 2nd from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. \nIn this three day workshop\, students will create clay pieces the first class (April 25) and RAKU fire 🔥 on 2nd class (May 2). \nIn the first day of this workshop\, participants will create hand built and/or wheel thrown vases (2 or 3). Then\, the pieces will be coated with slip (terra stig) and burnished. At the end of day one\, Tim will take the pieces with him to be bisque fired and bring them back to the store. SUMMARY:2-Day Pottery Workshop: Air Plant Holder with Driftwood *DAY 1*
DESCRIPTION:Join Gloria at ABAM for a 2-day driftwood planter pottery workshop on Thursday\, 5/4 and Thursday\, 5/25! \n\n\n\n\nStudents will develop a basic foundation in ceramic arts geared towards beginner through advanced skill level. Students can anticipate this course to be an introduction to the medium and guidance to create a finished product. \nThis workshop occurs on two days\, two weeks apart: \n\nThursday\, 5/4 from 5:30pm-7:30pm and\nThursday\, 5/25 from 5:30pm-7:30pm\n\nDay 1 of this course will cover a basic introduction to slab building to construct a slab hand built airplant holder that will incorporate driftwood\, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). Students will be able add Decorative techniques using stamps\, cookie cutters\, and texture lace will be provided to use in the design. Students may also bring their own decorative tools\, including but not limited to cookie cutters\, lace etc.\, to create a personalized planter. \nThe second day of this course will take place two weeks later to allow drying and bisque fired prior to glazing. This form will be sculpted with the pinch method and the details will be cut from slab using templates. A variety of materials can be added for texture and decoration. SUMMARY:2-Day Pottery Workshop: Air Plant Holder with Driftwood *DAY 2*
DESCRIPTION:Join Gloria at ABAM for a 2-day driftwood planter pottery workshop on Thursday\, 5/4 and Thursday\, 5/25! \n\n\n\n\nStudents will develop a basic foundation in ceramic arts geared towards beginner through advanced skill level. Students can anticipate this course to be an introduction to the medium and guidance to create a finished product. \nThis workshop occurs on two days\, two weeks apart: \n\nThursday\, 5/4 from 5:30pm-7:30pm and\nThursday\, 5/25 from 5:30pm-7:30pm\n\nDay 1 of this course will cover a basic introduction to slab building to construct a slab hand built airplant holder that will incorporate driftwood\, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). Students will be able add Decorative techniques using stamps\, cookie cutters\, and texture lace will be provided to use in the design. Students may also bring their own decorative tools\, including but not limited to cookie cutters\, lace etc.\, to create a personalized planter. \nThe second day of this course will take place two weeks later to allow drying and bisque fired prior to glazing. Well\, then this author workshop is perfect for you!\nJoin author\, Eileen Erikson\, on Saturday\, May 27th from 10am-12pm to learn the process of writing\, publishing\, and marketing a book from the author’s experiences. Erikson published her first book in 2003\, The Patients of a Saint\, followed by books for each of her grandchildren after each of their births\, which are now available at various stores and museums! Her website\, Grandbaby Books provides a great overview of each of her books\, as well as more information about the illustrators of her books.\nNote pads and pens will be provided to each participants to take notes throughout the workshop.\nThe cost for the workshop is $25 per participant\, which will also include a book of choice for each participants. \nClick here to purchase tickets\n\nThe goal of this workshop is for local author\, Eileen Erikson\, to share her experiences in order to navigate the class to implement their own endeavors in the writing field.\n\nAbout the Author:\nEileen Erikson\, wife\, mother\, grandmother\, nurse and author just completed her final story about her grandchildren and if God provides more grandchildren\, will certainly do her best to write about them.
