DESCRIPTION:Join us at ABAM to make your own beautiful single band ring on Saturday\, December 10th! \n\n\nIn this class\, you will make one ring with a round band\, then make and add a ball to it. The band can be texturized or not and you will make a ball to your liking. This is a great addition to the stackable rings! There will be several different textures to choose from and the ball you create can be smaller or larger than the one displayed. \nEverything you need in the workshop will be supplied in the cost of the class. \nPlease come equipped with glasses/reading glasses if you need them. SUMMARY:2-Day Ceramic Workshop: Ornaments or Christmas Tree Lanterns - DAY TWO *SOLD OUT*
DESCRIPTION:Join Gloria & Rebecca at ABAM\, for a 2-day course in slab hand building to create your own ceramic ornaments or Christmas tree lanterns! \n\n\nThis is a 2-day workshop\, three weeks apart: \n\n5:30 pm – 7:30 pm\, Monday\, November 21st and Monday\, December 12th\n\nStudents (ages 12 and up) will develop a basic foundation in ceramic arts geared towards beginners. Those with an intermediate skill level are welcome as well\, but should anticipate this course to be an introduction to the medium. \nDay 1 of this course (Monday\, November 21st) will cover a basic introduction to slab building to create you project\, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). \nFor the ornaments: Decorative techniques using stamps\, cookie cutters\, and texture lace will be provided to use in the design. Students may bring their own decorative tools\, including but not limited to cookie cutters\, to create personalized ornaments! Each student will make approximately 6-12 ornaments\, as time allows. \nFor the Christmas trees: Students will add decorations and texture\, then finish their trees off with shape cutters so that a tea light or candle will shine through. Decorative techniques using stamps\, cookie cutters\, and texture lace will be provided to use in the design. Students may bring their own decorative tools\, including but not limited to cookie cutters\, to create personalized Christmas trees! \nThe second day of this course will take place over two weeks later on Monday\, December 12th\, as the pieces will need to slowly dry\, and be bisque fired prior to glazing. During the second day\, the student will glaze their piece using premixed coyote\, amaco or mayco glazes supplied by Gloria. \nThe pieces will then be kiln fired by the instructor and then the students will be called once the pieces are available to pick up at the store\, within 1-2 weeks after glazing (the second day). \nTicket Cost\, materials and supplies (clay\, glazing\, pottery tools\, & decorative tools) included: \n\nOrnaments – $50\nChristmas Tree Lanterns – $60\n\nClick here to purchase tickets \nInstructors: Gloria Moore (@glomopottery) & Rebecca Cornelius ( @beachtobayclay) \n  \nThe students will leave the course with an understanding of clay as a medium\, an understanding of the hand building technique\, and glaze fired finished ornaments or Christmas tree lanterns!
