DESCRIPTION:Join Gloria at ABAM for a 2-day pottery workshop on Thursday\, 7/27 and Thursday\, 8/10 to make a mermaid or jellyfish! \n\n\n\n\nStudents will develop a basic foundation in ceramic arts geared towards beginner through advanced skill level. Students can anticipate this course to be an introduction to the medium and guidance to create a finished product. \nThis workshop occurs on two days\, two weeks apart: \n\nThursday\, 7/27 from 5:30pm-7:30pm and\nThursday\, 8/10 from 5:30pm-7:30pm\n\nDay 1 of this course will cover a basic introduction to slab building to construct a slab hand built mermaid\, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). Students will be able add Decorative techniques using stamps\, cookie cutters\, and texture lace will be provided to use in the design. Students may also bring their own decorative tools\, including but not limited to cookie cutters\, lace etc.\, to create either a mermaid or a jellyfish. \nThe second day of this course will take place two weeks later to allow drying and bisque fired prior to glazing. DESCRIPTION:Join Gloria at ABAM for a 2-day pottery workshop on Thursday\, 7/27 and Thursday\, 8/10 to make a mermaid or jellyfish! \n\n\n\n\nStudents will develop a basic foundation in ceramic arts geared towards beginner through advanced skill level. Students can anticipate this course to be an introduction to the medium and guidance to create a finished product. \nThis workshop occurs on two days\, two weeks apart: \n\nThursday\, 7/27 from 5:30pm-7:30pm and\nThursday\, 8/10 from 5:30pm-7:30pm\n\nDay 1 of this course will cover a basic introduction to slab building to construct a slab hand built mermaid\, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). Students will be able add Decorative techniques using stamps\, cookie cutters\, and texture lace will be provided to use in the design. Students may also bring their own decorative tools\, including but not limited to cookie cutters\, lace etc.\, to create either a mermaid or a jellyfish. \nThe second day of this course will take place two weeks later to allow drying and bisque fired prior to glazing.
