As a member of the Jacksonville Watercolor Society\, Roseann has won many awards. \nRoseann was most recently the Artist in Residence for the Arts in Medicine Program at U F Health (Shands) Hospital in Jacksonville. Previously Roseann was the Art Teacher for grades K-12 at Mainspring Academy\, and Collage School in Ponte Vedra\, both schools for students with autism and special needs. She also teaches watercolor through community education at Fletcher High School. Roseann has also demonstrated at the Cummer Museum in Jacksonville\, and has been a recipient of the Jacksonville Community Foundation Grant for Individual Artists. Her work has appeared on the cover of New Smyrna Magazine. You will learn basic torch use\, the different types of solder and tricks and tips on soldering and texturing metal. DESCRIPTION:Join Gloria & Chelsea at ABAM\, for a 2-day course in slab hand building to create your own ceramic Christmas tree lanterns! \n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a 2-day workshop\, two weeks apart: \n\n5:30 pm -7:30 pm\, Thursday\, October 27th and Thursday\, November 10th\n\nStudents will develop a basic foundation in ceramic arts geared towards beginners. Those with an intermediate skill level are welcome as well\, but should anticipate this course to be an introduction to the medium. \nDay 1 of this course (Thursday\, October 27th) will cover a basic introduction to slab building to construct a cone-shaped tree\, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). Students will add decorations and texture\, then finish their trees off with shape cutters so that a tea light or candle will shine through. Decorative techniques using stamps\, cookie cutters\, and texture lace will be provided to use in the design. Students may bring their own decorative tools\, including but not limited to cookie cutters\, to create personalized Christmas trees! \nThe second day of this course will take place over a week later on Thursday\, November 10th\, as the pieces will need to slowly dry\, and be bisque fired prior to glazing. DESCRIPTION:Join Gloria & Chelsea at ABAM\, for a 2-day course in slab hand building to create your own ceramic ornaments! \n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a 2-day workshop\, two weeks apart: \n\n5:30 pm – 7:30 pm\, Thursday\, October 20th and Thursday\, November 3rd\n\nStudents (ages 12 and up) will develop a basic foundation in ceramic arts geared towards beginners. Those with an intermediate skill level are welcome as well\, but should anticipate this course to be an introduction to the medium. \nDay 1 of this course (Thursday\, October 20th) will cover a basic introduction to slab building to create holiday ornaments\, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). Decorative techniques using stamps\, cookie cutters\, and texture lace will be provided to use in the design. Students may bring their own decorative tools\, including but not limited to cookie cutters\, to create personalized ornaments! Each student will make approximately 6-12 ornaments\, as time allows. \nThe second day of this course will take place over a week later on Thursday\, November 3rd\, as the pieces will need to slowly dry\, and be bisque fired prior to glazing. SUMMARY:2-Day Ceramic Workshop: Coastal Clay Christmas Ornaments - DAY ONE
DESCRIPTION:Join Gloria & Chelsea at ABAM\, for a 2-day course in slab hand building to create your own ceramic ornaments! \n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a 2-day workshop\, two weeks apart: \n\n2:00 pm -4:00 pm\, Thursday\, October 20th and Thursday\, November 3rd\n\nStudents (ages 12 and up) will develop a basic foundation in ceramic arts geared towards beginners. Those with an intermediate skill level are welcome as well\, but should anticipate this course to be an introduction to the medium. \nDay 1 of this course (Thursday\, October 20th) will cover a basic introduction to slab building to create holiday ornaments\, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). Decorative techniques using stamps\, cookie cutters\, and texture lace will be provided to use in the design. Students may bring their own decorative tools\, including but not limited to cookie cutters\, to create personalized ornaments! Each student will make approximately 6-12 ornaments\, as time allows. \nThe second day of this course will take place over a week later on Thursday\, November 3rd\, as the pieces will need to slowly dry\, and be bisque fired prior to glazing. Her previous career was as an art director in New York City. She has been working in watercolors for years. As a member of the Jacksonville Watercolor Society\, Roseann has won many awards. \nRoseann was most recently the Artist in Residence for the Arts in Medicine Program at U F Health (Shands) Hospital in Jacksonville. Previously Roseann was the Art Teacher for grades K-12 at Mainspring Academy\, and Collage School in Ponte Vedra\, both schools for students with autism and special needs. She also teaches watercolor through community education at Fletcher High School. Roseann has also demonstrated at the Cummer Museum in Jacksonville\, and has been a recipient of the Jacksonville Community Foundation Grant for Individual Artists. Her work has appeared on the cover of New Smyrna Magazine. The band can be texturized or not and you will make a ball to your liking. This is a great addition to the stackable rings!
