She has been designing and creating hand made jewelry for over twenty years. Throughout this time\, she has been selected to several juried shows and is an active member of numerous artist cooperatives. \nJana’s versatility is reflected in a variety of techniques and methods used in her jewelry making process. These include lost wax casting\, soldering\, precious metal clay\, chain mail\, and wire wrapping/weaving. Though sterling and fine silver are Jana’s primary metals of choice\, she also works with cooper and gold. Students can anticipate this course to be an introduction to the medium and guidance to create a finished product. \nThis workshop occurs on two days: \n\nMonday\, 10/9 from 2:00pm-4:30pm and\nMonday\, 10/26 from 2:00pm-4:30pm\n\nDay 1 of this course will cover a basic introduction to slab building to construct a slab hand built airplant holder that will incorporate driftwood\, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). Students will be able add Decorative techniques using stamps\, cookie cutters\, and texture lace will be provided to use in the design. Students may also bring their own decorative tools\, including but not limited to cookie cutters\, lace etc.\, to create a personalized planter. \nThe second day of this course will take place two weeks later to allow drying and bisque fired prior to glazing. As a member of the Jacksonville Watercolor Society\, Roseann has won many awards. \nRoseann was most recently the Artist in Residence for the Arts in Medicine Program at U F Health (Shands) Hospital in Jacksonville. Previously Roseann was the Art Teacher for grades K-12 at Mainspring Academy\, and Collage School in Ponte Vedra\, both schools for students with autism and special needs. She also teaches watercolor through community education at Fletcher High School. Roseann has also demonstrated at the Cummer Museum in Jacksonville\, and has been a recipient of the Jacksonville Community Foundation Grant for Individual Artists. Her work has appeared on the cover of New Smyrna Magazine. DESCRIPTION:Join Gloria at ABAM for a 2-day pottery workshop to make a table top vase on Saturday\, 10/14 and 11/4! \n\n\n\n\nStudents will develop a basic foundation in ceramic arts geared towards beginner through advanced skill level. Students can anticipate this course to be an introduction to the medium and guidance to create a finished product. \nThis workshop occurs on two days: \n\nSaturday\, 10/14 from 5:00pm-7:00pm and\nSaturday\, 11/4 from 5:00pm-7:00pm\n\nDay 1 of this course will cover a basic introduction to slab building to construct a slab hand built table top vase\, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). Students will be able add Decorative techniques using stamps\, cookie cutters\, and texture lace will be provided to use in the design. Students may also bring their own decorative tools\, including but not limited to cookie cutters\, lace etc.\, to create a personalized planter. \nThe second day of this course will take place two weeks later to allow drying and bisque fired prior to glazing.
