DESCRIPTION:Join Gloria at ABAM for a 2-day driftwood planter pottery workshop on Thursday\, 5/4 and Thursday\, 5/25! \n\n\n\n\nStudents will develop a basic foundation in ceramic arts geared towards beginner through advanced skill level. Students can anticipate this course to be an introduction to the medium and guidance to create a finished product. \nThis workshop occurs on two days\, two weeks apart: \n\nThursday\, 5/4 from 5:30pm-7:30pm and\nThursday\, 5/25 from 5:30pm-7:30pm\n\nDay 1 of this course will cover a basic introduction to slab building to construct a slab hand built airplant holder that will incorporate driftwood\, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). Students will be able add Decorative techniques using stamps\, cookie cutters\, and texture lace will be provided to use in the design. Students may also bring their own decorative tools\, including but not limited to cookie cutters\, lace etc.\, to create a personalized planter. \nThe second day of this course will take place two weeks later to allow drying and bisque fired prior to glazing. SUMMARY:2-Day Pottery Workshop: Air Plant Holder with Driftwood *DAY 1*
DESCRIPTION:Join Gloria at ABAM for a 2-day driftwood planter pottery workshop on Thursday\, 5/4 and Thursday\, 5/25! \n\n\n\n\nStudents will develop a basic foundation in ceramic arts geared towards beginner through advanced skill level. Students can anticipate this course to be an introduction to the medium and guidance to create a finished product. \nThis workshop occurs on two days\, two weeks apart: \n\nThursday\, 5/4 from 5:30pm-7:30pm and\nThursday\, 5/25 from 5:30pm-7:30pm\n\nDay 1 of this course will cover a basic introduction to slab building to construct a slab hand built airplant holder that will incorporate driftwood\, using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6). Students will be able add Decorative techniques using stamps\, cookie cutters\, and texture lace will be provided to use in the design. Students may also bring their own decorative tools\, including but not limited to cookie cutters\, lace etc.\, to create a personalized planter. \nThe second day of this course will take place two weeks later to allow drying and bisque fired prior to glazing. During the second day\, the student will glaze their piece using premixed coyote\, amaco or mayco glazes supplied by Gloria. \nThe pieces will then be kiln fired by the instructor and then the students will be called once the pieces are available to pick up at the store\, within 1-2 weeks after glazing (the second day). \nTicket Cost*: $65\, materials and supplies (clay\, glazing\, pottery tools\, & decorative tools) included. \nClick here to purchase tickets \nInstructor: Gloria Moore (@glomopottery) \n  \nThe students will leave the course with an understanding of clay as a medium\, an understanding of the hand building technique\, and glaze fired finished pocket planter \n*Ticket cost includes 2-day course\, approximately four hours total. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*** NOTICE *** \nDue to changes in Eventbrite policies\, the online processing fees will no longer be refunded when full or partial refunds are issued.
