2-Day Pottery Workshop: Ribbon Plant Holder (Day 2)

$65Join Gloria at ABAM to make a ceramic ribbon shaped plant holder on Sunday, 9/15 and 10/6 from 2pm-5pm!
This workshop occurs on two days:
- Sunday, 9/15 from 2:00pm-5:00pm and
- Sunday, 10/6 from 2:00pm-5:00pm
Students will be creating two ribbon shaped design pieces using a slab built technique for centerpiece or decorative gift idea.
Additional applications may include may include textures, cookie cutter turtles,stars , grasses and shells , starfish, etc.
Students will develop a basic foundation in ceramic arts geared towards beginner through advanced skill level. Students can anticipate this course to be an introduction to the medium and guidance to create a finished product.
This workshop occurs on two days, two weeks apart:
Day 1 of this course will cover a basic introduction to slab building to construct two slab technique hand built 3” ribbon shaped patterns to hold the glass vials Using a mid-fire clay body (firing to cone 5-6) is used . Students will be able add Decorative techniques if desired using stamps, cookie cutters, and texture lace that will be provided to use in the design. Students may also bring their own decorative tools, including but not limited to cookie cutters, lace etc., to enhance the design
Day 2 of this course will take place two weeks later to allow drying and bisque fired prior to glazing. During the second day, the student will glaze their piece using premixed coyote, amaco or mayco glazes supplied by Gloria.
The pieces will then be kiln fired by the instructor and then the students will be called once the pieces are available to pick up at the store, within 1-2 weeks after glazing (the second day).
